Spring Clean Like You Are In Quarantine
You have run out of cleaners and the grocery store is for essentials only. Well, now what?! The solution is easy! Whip up these four cleaners with things you likely already have under your sink.
All purpose cleaner:
- 1 part white vinegar
- 1 part water
Combine into a spray bottle and shake well. Don’t like that strong smell? Add a few drops of essential oil or lemon rind to tone it down.
Window cleaner:
- 2 Cups water
- ½ cup white vinegar
- ¼ cup rubbing alcohol
- Essential oils (optional)
To wash up your glass and windows, shake this up and apply from a spray bottle. Wipe quickly and the alcohol will help decrease streaking. Wipe off with a soft cloth (although I have seen it done successfully with newspaper!)
There are a myriad of uses for baking soda, check them out here but grout cleaner is my fav!
Grout cleaner:
- 1 part baking soda
- 1 part water
Mix together in a bowl. Wipe the mix onto the edges of your shower tiles and into the grout. Rinse it off and see the shine.
Toilet bowl cleaner:
- ½ cup of bleach
Since many of the products contain bleach, why not just go straight to the source and cut out the costly extra ingredients? Flush the toilet and wipe away any stray paper. Carefully pour in the bleach. Scrub around the inside of the bowl, particularly the upper inside rim. Leave it to sit for 5 minutes.
** Walk steadily while holding the bleachy toilet scrubber. I tripped in the hall while walking with my toilet scrubber and now my yellowed carpet reminds me daily of my own mishap!
Stay home and avoid those impossibly long lines at the market, especially because it is so easy to make your own! For more information, click here and happy quarantine!
